Adventures through Cemeteries....Cemeteries you say?!
Yes, well some people say it's crazy. But for me, a tombstone tells a story. Several in a group tell a bigger part of the story. Combine that with other information you have and you can clearly picture the life of the name on the stone. It is fascinating, sad, happy and awesome all wrapped into one. Here on these pages you will find the Cemeteries that I have visited and or want to visit. Those that I visit, I try to take photos of every stone. While this is helpful, sometimes writing things down at the cemetery is too time consuming and unless you wish to spend days at one place, you settle for just the photo and hope you can read most of it when you get home. The tough part is mapping out the cemetery. I have yet to really focus on that, because most of the cemeteries that I go to are seldom visited and generally rather lost and small. If you go there to find someone, you could very well look at all of the yourself to find that person. I also did not use either of the websites that I've recommended on previous pages because, again, time was an issue for me. Though in hind sight, I do wish I had at least one GPS coordinate at each place. Regardless, I hope that if you are looking for the cemeteries, or the people in them, that this helps you in some fashion. Wherever you are, whatever you are researching - always enjoy your Adventures in Genealogy! ~~Michele |
