Holland Cemetery, Hillsboro, AL
Holland cemetery is a small family cemetery on a county road. If it wasn't for the fairly new chain link fence that was placed around it in the mid 1980's, you would never know it was there. The ivy, vines, kudzu and weeds have taken over not just the ground but the trees too. This historical cemetery has newer markers that family (we assume) had created to keep the history alive. The original family buried here were here in the early 1800's and the patriarch and matriarch are Revolutionary service heroes. You can tell from the bushes and trees placed here that it was a beautiful cemetery in it's day.
My plan is to go back to this cemetery in the winter when all the animals are long gone and do some major rubbish removal.
If you'd like to donate time or money to help me restore this cemetery, please contact me. I could use the assistance.
